The third leg of the tour are the old cave and the big rocks.
Sardinia is known for its rocks: hard, imposing and strangely shaped. Over the cave we could admire huge rocks made of granite and limestone that the rain and the wind shaped in curious and funny ways. For example there were some stone rocks modelled like sea waves. Walking to the entry of the cave we passed under one of these imposing rocks that surrounded us, as you can see from the picture: you really feel small close to these millenary stones.

Through a cleft in the rock we could go inside the old cave of the shepherds: since the Neolithic this cave was used by the shepherds to shelter from the bad weather or to find protection from the dangers of the night while they pastured the flock on the mountain. Some archaeological finds were discovered in the cave, which prove that the shepherds actually used it.
We got out of the cave and headed to the Viewpoint, a sheer rock on the Baronia’s mountain landscape.
